Strategy
Tidebreak Command
★★★★☆ 4.2
Tidebreak Command asks a lot of your attention, which is unusual for a mobile strategy game. You're commanding fleets in real time, watching supply lines, and deciding when to commit. It can get frantic, and I loved that it never held my hand.
The pinch-and-drag controls work better than I feared. Zooming out to read the whole map and back in to micromanage a skirmish feels natural after an hour. Where it stumbles is the tutorial, which throws too much at you at once.
This is the one game here I'd tell you to play plugged in. On a long match my phone got noticeably warm and the battery dropped quicker than anything else I tested.
What we liked
- Genuine real-time tension
- Smooth map navigation
- Deep supply mechanics
